Chapter 13

1 This5124 is the third5154 time I am coming2064 to you. In the mouth4750 of two1417 or2532 three5140 witnesses3144 shall every3956 word4487 be established.2476

2 I told4280 you before,4280 and foretell4302 you, as if1437 I were present,3918 the second1208 time; and being absent548 now3568 I write1125 to them which heretofore4258 have sinned,4258 and to all3956 other,3062 that, if I come2064 again,1519 3588 3825 I will not spare:5339

3 Since1893 you seek2212 a proof1382 of Christ5547 speaking2980 in me, which3739 to you-ward1519 5209 is not weak,770 but is mighty1414 in you.

4 For though1487 he was crucified4717 through1537 weakness,769 yet235 he lives2198 by the power1411 of God.2316 For we also2532 are weak770 in him, but we shall live2198 with him by the power1411 of God2316 toward1519 you.

5 Examine3985 yourselves,1438 whether1487 you be in the faith;4102 prove1381 your1438 own selves.1438 Know1921 you not your1438 own selves,1438 how that Jesus2424 Christ5547 is in you, except1509 you be reprobates?96

6 But I trust1679 that you shall know1097 that we are not reprobates.96

7 Now1161 I pray2172 to God2316 that you do4160 no3361 3367 evil;2556 not that we should appear5316 approved,1384 but that you should do4160 that which is honest,2570 though we be as reprobates.96

8 For we can1410 do nothing3756 5100 against2596 the truth,225 but for the truth.225

9 For we are glad,5463 when3752 we are weak,770 and you are strong:1415 and this5124 also2532 we wish,2172 even your5216 perfection.2676

2 Попере́джував я й попере́джу́ю, — як у вас був удру́ге, так тепер неприсутній, — отих, що згрішили перед тим, і всіх інших, що коли прийду знову, то я не помилую,

3 через те, що шукаєте доказу, що в мені промовляє Христос, Який не безсилий до вас, але сильний у вас.

4 Бо хоч Він був і розп'я́тий в не́мочі, та живий із сили Божої. Так і ми, — хоча не́мічні в Нім, та з Ним бу́демо жити з Божої сили у вас.

5 Випробо́вуйте самих себе, чи ви в вірі, пізнавайте самих себе. Хіба ви не знаєте самих себе, що Ісус Христос у вас? Хіба тільки, що ви не такі, якими мали б бути.

6 Але маю надію, що пізнаєте ви, що ми такі, якими мали б бути.

7 І ми молимо Бога, щоб ви не чинили нія́кого ли́ха, не для то́го, щоб виявились ми досвідчені, а щоб учинили ви добре, а ми бу́дем немов негі́дні.

8 Бо нічо́го не можемо ми проти правди, а за правду.

9 Ми тішимося, коли ми слабі, а ви сильні. Про це й мо́лимось — щоб були досконалими ви!

10 Ось тому́ то, відсутній, пишу́ це, щоб прийшовши, не мав я вчинити суворо за вла́дою, якої Госпо́дь мені дав на будува́ння, а не на руйнува́ння.

11 А накінець, браття, радійте, удосконалюйтесь, тіштеся, будьте однодумні, майте мир, — і Бог любови та ми́ру буде з вами!

12 Вітайте один одного святим поцілунком! Усі святі вас вітають!

13 Благода́ть Господа нашого Ісуса Христа, і любов Бога й Отця, і спільність Святого Духа нехай буде зо всіма́ вами! Амі́нь.
